As we all know, the Government decided to cancel all GCSE and A-Level examinations back in December. As per OFQUAL’s guidance: “For GCSEs, AS and A levels, teachers will assess the standard at which you are performing based only on what you have been taught so that your school or college can determine your grade. Teachers’ judgements should be based on a range of evidence.” Please note, this also applied to vocational qualifications such as BTEC’s and Cambridge Nationals.
We have set out further details on how these are calculated in our communication with parents and also in our centre policy:
Please note, for all enquiries relating to grades being awarded this year, we are asking that communication be sent through to our specialised inbox:
Throughout April and May we will enter a phase of assessments taking place in our sports hall. These are a robust method of gaining additional evidence for our staff for when they are formulating TAG’s. Please see below for the timetable:
Tuesday 10th August – A-level and other level 3 grades for Year 13 will be issued in school from 9am
Thursday 12th August – GCSE and other level 2 grades for Year 11 will be issued in school from 9am
Further details of the Appeals process including guidance and forms to complete will be published here when available.
You can find more detailed information on the processes being used this summer on the JCQ website:
