Our latest enrolment form for 2022-2023 will be live soon…

We are very proud of our 6th Form offer, and believe we can rival other local 6th form providers in terms of quality of teaching, and enrichment opportunities.

We aim to inspire excellence! 6th Form teachers and tutors are aspirational for each and every one of our students. This ethos supports students to make exceptional progress during their time in 6th Form.

We are the only local school to offer both Duke of Edinburgh Gold, and a Sports Leadership extra-curricular programme, and 6th Form students at Abbeyfield have the opportunity to lead both our Student Council and our House System.  All students will also be involved in volunteering or leadership, to add value to their post-18 offer.

OPTIONS BLOCKS:

Our options blocks for September 2023 are currently being finalised. In addition, in Year 12 they can also take Core Maths and / or an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), both of which are equivalent to half an A Level in terms of UCAS tariff points.

The blocking of subjects will be based around student choices to ensure that as many students can study their chosen courses as possible.

EPQ’s are started in Year 12, or even following exams in Year 11, and submitted no later then T3 of Year 13, whilst Core Maths exams are sat in May of Year 12.

A final word from one of our students:  “Starting 6th Form was a daunting time because it was a new stage of my life, but from the first day I walked through those doors I felt comfortable. From the second I step into school to the second I leave I am constantly laughing and smiling. I couldn’t think of a better 6th Form to be at”.

If you have any questions about our admission process, please contact Miss Jones, Head of 6th Form: sxj@abbeyfield.wilts.sch.uk
